About Me
Hi, I’m Maria Margarida Simões — a Lisbon-based emerging architect, currently completing the final steps to become a fully licensed architect in Portugal.
I hold a Master’s in Architecture from FAUL – Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade de Lisboa, where I developed a strong interest in urban regeneration and sustainable design. My final thesis explored ways of revitalizing a Lisbon’s already existing bairro through architectural and ecological strategies.
Over the past year, I completed a 12-month professional internship, while also attending classes from the Ordem dos Arquitectos. This journey has helped me grow both technically and conceptually, and I’m excited to keep learning through new projects, collaborations, and challenges.
This website is a space to share some of my academic work, early professional experiences, and design experiments. It’s a work in progress — just like me — and I hope it reflects the kind of architect I aspire to become.
